‘Deepam’ is derived from the festival of lights that is observed by Hindus, Deepams’s meaning “the light of hope” can be embodied at Deepam Tandoori as we are committed to preserving a culture, tradition and standard in culinary tastes that customers would appreciate. It is more than sixteen years since Deepam Tandoori restaurant group was established in Clyde Road, Berwick. Deepam Tandoori has since become an icon of Indian cuisine and established itself as the favoured and first restaurant of curry connoisseurs across the Berwick area. If you are a first-time visitor, you will find our cuisine versatile, ranging from extremely mild to the richly pungent. We offer a richly-varied menu of fresh, natural ingredients, wholesome sauces and flavourful spices. All of our food is natural and freshly-prepared daily on the premises with no additives or preservatives
Indian cuisine is a combination of delicate tastes and flavors, as exotic as the people of India. Fragrant spices, from the four corners of the country are delicately blended in meticulous portions to create the dishes we present to you. Each dish will have it’s own distinctive flavor and aroma . The blending and preparation of spices is a centuries – old craft and crucial to Indian cuisine. Our traditional dishes are rooted in the soil of Southern and Northern Indian and they are prepared in our restaurant as in our own homes.
Tandoori is an oven made from Indian clay, a simple cooking tool which does many things, like bake bread or roast lamb and chicken which add a unique and special flavor to the food we prepare in it.
